Surfing is about feel. So is the way we read it back.

OceanLog logs your sessions and gives you an honest AI read — what stood out, what to try next — across seven core water sports and more, with your coach in the loop. It surfaces; it never decides. Not a logbook. The whole loop.

What we believe

The numbers serve the feeling — never the other way round.

Feel first

Surfing is feelings, impressions, style and fun in an ever-changing ocean. The data is there to serve that — to help you understand a session, never to grade it.

Honest, always

It tells you what it sees — and what it can't. No verdicts dressed up as truth. When the data is thin, it says so, and leaves the call to you.

Your coach, amplified

It reads your sessions back in your coach's own voice. The human still coaches — OceanLog just makes the session legible between sessions.

How it works

It isn't a logbook. It's the whole loop.

Logging is just step one.

Who it's for

Built for surfers who want to understand — and the coaches who guide them.

Surfers

You want to understand your sessions, not just record them. OceanLog reads each one back — honestly — and shows how you're really moving across a season.

Coaches

Every athlete's session, read back in your voice — so you walk into each lesson already knowing where they are. Bring your surfers; your method always sits on top.

8 sports fully supported — one engine

Why it exists

I built OceanLog because the tools either forecast the ocean or count your waves — none of them helped me understand the session I'd just had. So I made the one I wanted: honest, feel-first, and respectful of the coach who actually knows you.

Questions, answered honestly

The quick FAQ

What is OceanLog?

OceanLog is a surf and watersports logbook with an honest AI coach. You log your sessions and it reads each one back — what the data noticed, what to try next — surfacing, never grading. It's multi-sport and works alongside your own coach. It's currently in open beta — free, and no invite needed.

Is there a free version?

Yes. There's a free tier with real logging and AI reports. Paid plans add more reports and deeper, season-long analysis — quality is never the paywall. Final prices are being set during the beta.

Which sports does it support?

Seven are fully supported — surf, SUP, kitesurf, bodyboard, bodysurf, surfskate and kayak — and you can log windsurf, wing and foiling too, with tailored coaching for those still catching up. You log them all the same way.

Do I need a smartwatch?

No. You can log everything by hand, and a wave calculator estimates ride data when there's no GPS. If you do wear a watch, you can import GPS and heart-rate from Garmin (.FIT files), Apple Health or a GPX/TCX file.

Is my data private?

Yes — your data is yours. It's private by default, and "secret spots" are hidden everywhere, redacted even inside the AI reports. Sharing anything with a coach or a friend is opt-in and you can revoke it.

Does OceanLog tell me how good I am?

No. OceanLog reflects and surfaces; it never grades or ranks you against other people. The whole idea is you-vs-you — a guide, never a verdict.
